Terms of Use
This is the same text shown inside the app. It was written to describe what Tradeonomist actually does, and every factual claim in it is checkable against the code.
Tradeonomist is education, not advice
Tradeonomist teaches trading concepts and helps you build a habit of reviewing your own decisions. It is not a broker, not a dealer, not an adviser, and not a portfolio manager. Nothing in the app — no lesson, no finding, no recommendation, no score — is financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, and none of it is a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold anything.
The lessons include jurisdiction-specific material for Canada and the United States. Tax rules, account types, and investor protection schemes change and vary by situation. Confirm anything that affects your own taxes or accounts with a qualified professional before acting on it.
Every trading decision you make is yours. You can lose money trading, including more than you put in when leverage or derivatives are involved.
What the Practice Index is and is not
The Practice Index combines how much of the curriculum you have read, how consistently you keep the rules you chose to track, and the win rate of the trades in your account. It measures behaviour and consistency. It does not predict returns, and a higher score does not mean you will make money.
Levels and ranks are derived from the Practice Index alone. Nothing in the app ranks users by profit and loss, trade size, or account value, and no leaderboard of financial outcomes exists or will be added.
Your account
You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter a contract where you live. One account per person. Keep your credentials to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account.
Give accurate information at sign-up. A display name that impersonates someone, advertises, or is abusive may be removed.
Connecting a brokerage
Broker connections are made through SnapTrade, a third-party aggregator. Tradeonomist never sees or stores your brokerage username, password, or two-factor codes — you enter those on the broker’s or SnapTrade’s own screens, and Tradeonomist holds only a connection reference.
The connection is read-only. Tradeonomist cannot place, modify, or cancel an order, and cannot move money.
Imported trade history can be incomplete or wrong, because it depends on what your broker reports. Treat it as a record to review, not as a statement of account. Your broker’s own statements are authoritative.
Disconnecting inside Tradeonomist removes the authorisation on SnapTrade’s side as well. Trades already imported are kept, because they are your history.
What you write
Your reflections, notes, and check-ins remain yours. You give Tradeonomist permission to store and process them in order to run the app — which includes sending the text of a daily reflection to a third-party language model to extract the trades described in it.
Do not put anything in a reflection you would not want processed this way: no passwords, no account numbers, no other people’s personal information.
Paid plans
Some features require a paid plan. Where a subscription is bought through the App Store or Google Play, that store handles billing, renewal, and refunds under its own terms, and cancellation is done there rather than here.
Prices and what each plan includes can change. Changes will not apply to a period you have already paid for.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the service. Do not scrape or bulk-extract the lesson library. Do not use the app to harass anyone or to distribute anything unlawful.
The lesson content and the app itself belong to Tradeonomist and are licensed to you for personal use only.
Availability, and what we do not promise
The service is provided as is. Features can change or be withdrawn, and the app can be unavailable — for maintenance, because a third party we depend on is down, or otherwise.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Tradeonomist is not liable for trading losses, lost profits, or indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Ending it
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion removes your account and personal data as described in the Privacy Policy.
An account may be suspended or closed for a serious or repeated breach of these terms.
Changes and governing law
These terms can change. Material changes will be shown in the app before they take effect, with a new effective date.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
